About John Canio, MD

John Canio, MD, is a double-board-certified internal medicine physician and gastroenterologist at Capitol GI, providing high-quality care to people in Roseville, California, and throughout Placer County.

Dr. Canio brings more than 25 years of experience in internal medicine and gastroenterology to the practice. He earned his medical degree at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC.

Dr. Canio then completed an internship, residency, and fellowship at the Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Gastroenterology at the University of California Davis Medical Center.

There, Dr. Canio received extensive training in diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive diseases and disorders, including colon cancer, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Canio holds board certifications in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He joined the Capitol GI team in 2002 and has served patients at the Roseville office ever since.
